312 Real Madrid’s squad believe the club will pip Liverpool to the signing of Jude Bellingham this summer, reports Miguel Delaney for The Independent.
Writing in his weekly Reading the Game column for The Independent, Delaney claims that the Madrid board feel they’ve been successful in pitching to Bellingham. And with that, they believe they’ve beaten Liverpool to his signing in the summer.
It’s claimed that that confidence at board level has now stretched into the first team as well and that Madrid’s players believe Bellingham will be a Madrid player come the summer. Of course, as is noted by Delaney, the Los Blancos stars also had the same feeling about Kylian Mbappe.

However, news of this sort of feeling from Madrid will be a blow to Liverpool. The Reds had been hoping to sign Bellingham and Jurgen Klopp even admitted he liked the Englishman this week, albeit with a worry that Man City might yet land him.
Bellingham is thought to be open to joining Liverpool. But Real are known to be persistent when they want a player and will hope their status in world football can lure the Birmingham native.

Well, that’s how it feels in the last few weeks. At one point it seemed certain that Bellingham would be a Liverpool player but now it’s looking less and less likely.
Ultimately, the power of Madrid remains one of football’s great forces. The Spanish side are giants and when they go big, they really go big to land players.
Bellingham is more or less guaranteed trophies in Madrid. He’ll be a star. But he’ll also be aware of the pressure, and how other Englishmen have fared. See Michael Owen or Jonathan Woodgate.
If Liverpool do want Bellingham, then it looks like they might need to get their act together. And quickly.
