Senior Liverpool officials are said to be convinced that Jordan Henderson would’ve been a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s side if he had stayed in the summer.
The Englishman has been in the news a lot over the last few days. His spell in Saudi Arabia came to an end this month, and he has now gone and joined Ajax in Amsterdam on a permanent deal.

Jordan Henderson spent 12 years at Liverpool and helped them win the Premier League and the Champions League during his time at Anfield.
Almost everyone expected the Englishman to stay at Liverpool until the end of his career because he was such a respected member of the squad.
However, much to everyone’s surprise, Henderson agreed to leave Liverpool and move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq last summer.
That spell, however, didn’t even last six months, which suggests that he just didn’t enjoy his time in the Middle East despite earning big money there.
Things would’ve been really different had he stayed at Liverpool, with the Daily Mail claiming that senior officials at Anfield still privately believe ‘Henderson would have had a significant part to play had he stayed at the club’ last summer.
We wonder what Henderson thinks about his decision to leave now.

It’s easy to say now that Jordan Henderson made a mistake leaving Liverpool, but we’re sure he had his reasons back then.
The Englishman could’ve played a big part for the Reds this term if he had stayed – especially in defensive midfield, which is an area many feel is Liverpool’s weakest.
The focus for Henderson now will be on Ajax, and we really think that is an exciting challenge for the former Liverpool captain. The Dutch giants have had a terrible season so far, and they need a player like Henderson’s experience and leadership to get them back to the top.
It will be interesting to see how Henderson will fare in Amsterdam in the coming months.
