So, it seems Liverpool have chosen Ruben Amorim as the man to replace Jurgen Klopp this summer.
Michael Edwards appears to have accelerated his managerial hunt in recent weeks, with reports from Portugal suggesting that the Portuguese tactician has been offered a contract until 2027.
Further sources have claimed that the 39-year-old is very keen to replace Klopp.
The man from Lisbon has clearly impressed Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Edwards with his efforts at Sporting CP, where he ended a 19-year wait for a Primeira Liga title in 2021 and looks set to win Portugal’s top-flight again this season.
Now, there has been an update on what Liverpool and Ruben Amorim are currently thinking as rumours about a potential appointment intensify…
What Liverpool and Ruben Amorim are currently thinking
Well – according to Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany – there is believed to be a verbal agreement in place between Liverpool and Amorim.
That is what the bulk of sources are saying, although the Daily Mail have since provided a little more insight.

However, April is viewed as a vital month by Edwards in terms of finding Klopp’s replacement, so approaches had to be made regardless.
The Daily Mail add that talks are yet to reach an advanced stage, but there is currently a “calmness” between both Liverpool and Amorim, suggesting neither party are worried about failing to reach an agreement.
Barring any late shocks, it would now appear as if Liverpool have settled on the Sporting CP boss to replace Klopp – after Xabi Alonso announced his decision to stay at Bayer Leverkusen.
Style of play
The Daily Mail add that Amorim is “wedded” to a 3-4-3 formation.
It involves three physical central defenders who can cover huge distances at the back – something Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk are superb at in particular.
Goncalo Inacio – who has been offered to Liverpool – is a key cog in this system.
Amorim’s style also sees the full-backs pushed on almost like wingers, which should suit the likes of Conor Bradley and Andrew Robertson, while the wide forwards in his front three are often inverted, acting almost like attacking midfielders more than anything.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Liverpool and Amorim look set to unite this summer.
