Real Madrid are considering making a move for Ibrahima Konate this coming summer, with Media Foot reporting that Carlo Ancelotti is in love with the Liverpool centre-back.

Konate has not had the easiest time since making the move to Anfield ahead of last season. The Frenchman has struggled with injuries at times. And he has not been able to cement a spot as a regular starter in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

When he has played, he has been absolutely outstanding. Virgil van Dijk has suggested that he is an ‘incredible‘ player for now and the future for the Reds.

But perhaps Liverpool may face a fight to keep him beyond the coming months. According to a report from Media Foot, Ancelotti really wants the 23-year-old at the Bernabeu.

It is suggested that Real could look at making a bid this summer. And interestingly, the report adds that Los Blancos have more money to spend in the next window than almost anyone in world football.

Obviously, they are going to have to be prepared to part with an eye-watering sum. Liverpool paid £36 million to bring him in from RB Leipzig. And you would imagine that they would want to be offered the chance to make a huge profit before they even considered letting him go.

Konate may have a couple of frustrations with how much he has played. But both van Dijk and Joel Matip are now 31. So it is hard to see him having to bide his time much longer before he gets that lengthy run in the team.

Playing for Real may be a goal for Konate at some stage in his career. But Liverpool must be optimistic that he will not be looking to go anywhere for the time-being.
