Liverpool youngster Fabio Carvalho looks to be on his way back to the Championship in a surprise move to Hull City.
The former Fulham ace is back at Anfield after a disappointing loan spell in Germany and has a host of clubs keen on taking him off Liverpool’s hands in January.
The likes of Leeds are apparently pushing to sign him, while Premier League side Wolves have also been tipped to make a move for the youngster.
However, according to Sky Sports, it now looks like Carvalho could be on his way to Hull City instead.
Hull City hoping to sign Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool
According to the report on Sky’s transfer tracker, Carvalho is open to joining Hull after speaking to Liam Rosenior about the project there.
Carvalho is believed to be impressed by what Rosenior has had to say and the fact he is promising him regular minutes at first-team level. Indeed, it’s suggested a deal could even be wrapped up in time for Carvalho to play against Norwich on Friday night.
Rosenior is regarded as one of the top up and coming coaches in the Football League and recently moved to sign Billy Sharp, a signing very much on the opposite end of the spectrum to Carvalho.
Hull are within touching distance of being in the playoff picture in the Championship and will feel Carvalho’s quality can help them gate crash the top six.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp thinks Carvalho is an ‘outstanding‘ prospect but there is little sign of him getting game time this season for the Reds.
A move away, then, seems ideal for the ex-Fulham man.
Time to shine
This has come out of the blue a bit, it has to be said.
However, it’s a great chance for Fabio Carvalho to go back to a league he knows, under a young and progressive manager, and really kick on.
It never hurts to go into the Championship to play your football and Carvalho will be hoping he can impress at Hull.
It’s a bold and brave move as well from the young midfielder. He no doubt has other options but if he has agreed to Hull, then it shows he is ready for a tough challenge in order to impress.
