Liverpool need to find a new manager this summer.
Jurgen Klopp is leaving the club at the end of the season, and finding a replacement is about more than just finding a good coach.
Indeed, being the manager of Liverpool is about so much more than using the right tactics. You’re a de facto leader of one of the most passionate fanbases in the world and you have to stand for so much more than football.
Simply put, you have to have the right personality to manage this club, and, interestingly, Liverpool’s higher-ups believe they’ve found someone with the right personality.

According to Miguel Delaney, writing in the Reading The Game Newsletter for The Independent, Ruben Amorim is a contender for the Liverpool job.
Amorim has been discussed as a frontrunner for this job for a little while now, and according to this report, Liverpool’s new executive hierarchy – comprised of Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, are struck by the Portuguese gaffer’s personality.
Personality is so important at Liverpool
If there’s any club in world football where you need to have the right personality to succeed it’s Liverpool.
This is a club that is so emotionally charged by the history of the team and the history of the city, and if you can’t get to grips with that or resonate in that way, you’re destined to fail.
Michael Edwards does understand what it takes to be a successful Liverpool manager. After all, he was the one who hired Jurgen Klopp, and if he thinks that Amorim ticks this box, don’t be shocked if he is ultimately the manager the Reds go for in the end.
Amorim may well be the right man for the job.
