Report: Manchester Utd now make approach to sign 'special' £25m player who dreams of signing for Liverpool

Manchester United could be set for a busy January with Jim Ratcliffe taking part-ownership and midfielder Andre Trindade could be on their radar.

Andre, who won the Copa Libertadores with Fluminense last week, is a man in-demand and has a host of admirers in the Premier League.

Liverpool are thought to have been tracking him for some time and Andre himself is reportedly said to be really keen to drive a move to Anfield through.

However, others are in the mix and according to Football Transfers, Manchester United are one of those teams.

It’s reported that the Red Devils have actually made an approach for Andre and are looking to see if they can beat out the rest to sign the Brazilian star.

Andre, 22, is valued at around the £25m mark by the South American side. That sort of money, of course, would not put off a club the size of United, especially if Ratcliffe is involved.

Manchester United want to sign Andre ahead of Liverpool and more

Interestingly, United’s interest in Andre actually comes in the same week that reports have claimed Liverpool are actually going to move on from him.

The Reds have looked at Andre for a long time but it’s now being claimed that Jurgen Klopp sees other players as more fitting right now.

It’s quite clear that the midfielder is going to be a man in-demand heading into January, with clubs seeing South America as a market that works well for English teams at the moment.

Quite who will win out in the race for Andre, remains to be seen.

But there is going to be a willingness from United, with their new part owners, to make a splash in January and show they mean business.

And what better way to do that than by going and signing a player who their bitter rivals have tracked for some time now.

The ‘special‘ Andre still has a lot to learn. But if United want to replace Casemiro, as is hinted in the reports here, then the 22-year-old might be the perfect addition in the winter.
