172 Liverpool have already identified three potential replacements for Jurgen Klopp.
That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who has named Steven Gerrard and Roberto De Zerbi among the early candidates.

Roberto De Zerbi linked with Liverpool
Well, according to journalist Dean Jones in SportsLens, Roberto De Zerbi is one of the candidates to replace Jurgen Klopp as the Liverpool manager at the end of the season.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Xabi Alonso is one of the early candidates for the role at Liverpool as well.
Alonso played for Liverpool and is now in charge of German club Bayer Leverkusen, who could win the Bundesliga this season. One presenter thinks that he is ready for the role at Anfield.
The report in SportsLens has noted that “Reds’ legend Steven Gerrard and Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi are two other early front-runners that are being talked about as the Klopp fall-out begins to take hold”.
Liverpool have announced that Klopp will step down as the manager at the end of the season. The German boss is running out of energy.
Roberto De Zerbi is highly rated
Roberto De Zerbi has been superb as the Brighton and Hove Albion manager and is highly rated in the footballing community. Some have suggested that he could replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
The 44-year-old plays attacking football at Brighton. He is not afraid to take the game to top teams, including Manchester City.
City manager Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of De Zerbi, who has been tipped to eventually replace the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager at the Etihad Stadium.
Interestingly, De Zerbi has publicly said that he was inspired to become a coach by Guardiola and the way Barcelona played under him.
The Italian told Sky Sports in May 2023: “I became a coach because of him. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not, but I became a coach for him because I loved his Barcelona and I studied him a lot.
“I don’t love to copy anybody, but I took [things from him] when I started to be a coach, and before, also, when I finished as a player. Pep is still No 1.”
