Liverpool are set for a new era as of next season, with Arne Slot set to take the Reds reins after Jurgen Klopp leaves Anfield.
On Friday, Liverpool reportedly struck a deal over Slot, who now looks set to take over from Klopp at the end of the season.
We’ve also had Michael Edwards become CEO of Football at FSG, while Richard Hughes is expected to become the Reds’ director of football this summer.
With all these elements in place, Liverpool should be able to put together a solid transfer policy for the summer that will ensure continuity in squad quality.
One area the Reds could do with boosting is at centre-back, with Joel Matip leaving at the end of the season, Ibrahima Konate struggling of late, and Virgil van Dijk set to turn 33 soon.
And according to a report from Italy, Liverpool are looking at one of the Bundesliga’s best up-and-coming defenders to bolster their ranks.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Liverpool have made the 22-year-old their ‘objective’ to strengthen their backline for 2024/25.
Pacho, a left-footed defender who has won 10 caps for the Ecuador national team, has the ‘right profile’ for the Reds, added the report.
Who is Liverpool target Willian Pacho?
Willian Pacho has enjoyed a superb maiden season at Frankfurt after joining from Royal Antwerp in 2023, making 40 appearances for his new club to date.
This is what the Bundesliga website has said about Pacho: “A left-sided central defender with superb spatial awareness, inch-perfect passing skills and a tackling game that’s been honed to perfection, Pacho is proving to be a tailor-made replacement for Frankfurt predecessor Evan Ndicka, now of Roma.
“He also has the technical nous to be able to play out from the back, and the pace to stay touch-tight to speedy opposition players.”
Meanwhile, Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmoller has said of Pacho: “He’s doing a great job, and is getting better all the time. He’s really reliable and has world-class potential.”
In terms of price tag, Fabrizio Romano recently told CaughtOffside: “Pacho has a price tag of around €50-60million (£43-51.5million) and it looks like an open race for his signature this summer.”
All in all, Pacho looks like a good shout for Liverpool. They could do with a left-footed defender, and at just 21 years of age, he has his whole career ahead of him and a high ceiling.
