498 Liverpool are reportedly ready to make their first move for Sporting Clube de Portugal’s Manuel Ugarte, a midfielder who was sent off against Arsenal this season.
That’s according to Record, who claim that Jurgen Klopp’s men will present an offer to the Portuguese outfit this week.
After an underwhelming campaign, the Reds look set to re-shape their midfield over the summer.
Liverpool have improved dramatically over the past few weeks and look to have an outside shot at sneaking into the top-four.
But with Jude Bellingham seemingly edging closer to a move to Real Madrid, Liverpool have been forced to explore other options.
One name that has been linked with a move to Anfield is Manuel Ugarte, with Football Transfers claiming the Reds have been in talks with the midfielder recently.

Now, it seems that Liverpool are ready to make their first move for Ugarte this week.
Liverpool ready to bid for Ugarte
Record reports that Liverpool are repairing to move for Ugarte and his agents will present Sporting CP with an offer.
The Portuguese outfit are willing to negotiate a deal, despite Sporting boss Ruben Amorim’s desire to keep the player.
Ugarte has been labelled an ‘exciting’ midfield talent and he’s impressed in Portugal this season.
The Uruguayan’s displays have helped them to a Europa League quarter-final before being knocked out by Juventus, although he did get sent off when Sporting faced Arsenal back in March.

He’s a combative midfielder who certainly doesn’t shy away from a tackle, which is something Liverpool have been missing this season due to Fabinho’s dip in form.
Ugarte seems well-suited to the Premier League and Liverpool, but it remains to be seen whether or not Sporting will sanction a sale for a player their manager wants to keep.
