Report: Liverpool now want to sign ‘unbelievable’ PL midfielder, Luis Suarez is a massive fan

Liverpool have been linked with a number of top midfielders as they look to improve their squad.

A report from El Crack Deportivo suggests they may be looking within the Premier League to find that solution.

The name most associated with Liverpool right now is Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund star lit up the World Cup with England, and is already one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Liverpool are set to face plenty of competition to sign Bellingham next summer.

Another name that’s been linked with the Reds is Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez is another young player who shone in Qatar, with his screamer against Mexico his standout moment.

He’s now preparing to face Croatia for a place in the World Cup final.

However, El Crack Deportivo believe Jurgen Klopp is interested in another South American superstar.

Their report suggests that Liverpool are among the teams that want to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United are also keen on the 25-year-old who is having a superb season.

Liverpool want to sign Bentancur

It would be a huge statement of ambition if Liverpool were able to bring Bentancur to Anfield.

Spurs signed the Uruguayan for £20m from Juventus in January, alongside Dejan Kulusevski.

The pair have transformed Tottenham, and cemented themselves as two of Antonio Conte’s key players.

Liverpool legend Luis Suarez is a massive fan of Bentancur’s.

He originally wanted him to join former teammate Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.

If Liverpool want to sign Bentancur, Spurs would demand a huge fee, if they’re even willing to listen to an offer.

Described as an ‘unbelievable’ player by Matthew Upson, Bentancur already has scored four goals this season.

However, that’s not his primary role in the team, with his incredible work-rate and defensive actions what Bentancur excels at.

Tottenham and Liverpool don’t tend to do much direct transfer business.

The last senior player to swap north London for Merseyside was Robbie Keane, and he returned to White Hart Lane just six months later.

Bentancur could be the next player to make that move, but only if Liverpool can somehow persuade Spurs to let him go.
