Report: Liverpool now want to sign 'unbelievable' £43m star who's even faster than Dominik Szoboszlai

Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.

According to 90Min, the Reds are one of several Premier League clubs eyeing the 23-year-old.

As well as Liverpool, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City are apparently in pursuit of Davies.

The Reds are currently without Andrew Robertson, who is recovering from shoulder surgery.

Liverpool also have Kostas Tsimikas but there’s certainly scope to improve the strength in depth in that position.

Davies, arguably one of the best and most highly sought-after left-backs in the world, would certainly fit the bill for the Reds.

The Canada international has entered the final two years of his contract at the Allianz Arena, sparking interest in his services.

And his agent has been in the news recently, claiming his client has plenty of suitors in the Premier League.

Davies has established himself as one of the world’s leading left-backs since leaving Vancouver Whitecaps for Bayern back in 2018.

Despite only recently turning 23, he has already made 171 appearances for Bayern, winning 13 major honours in his time at the club.

Liverpool could land one of the world’s best and fastest defenders for less than £45m

Davies is also a very fast player. As per the Daily Mail, he recorded the top speed of any player in last season’s Champions League.

He registered 23.1mph in a game against Inter Milan. This was faster than the likes of Mykhaylo Mudryk and Dominik Szoboszlai.

According to Bild -via Goal.com – Davies has been given a €50million (£43million) price tag.

All in all, the ‘unbelievable‘ talent is a great shout for Liverpool and, for a player of his quality, that’s not too bad a price.

The only issue for the Reds – or indeed any other Premier League suitor – is that Davies reportedly favours a move to Real Madrid.

However, Liverpool certainly have what it takes to launch a charm offensive and try to convince him of a switch to Anfield, one of the biggest and most historic clubs in the world.
