147 Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier ahead of the January transfer window.
According to BILD, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have joined Merseyside rivals Everton in pursuit of the 21-year-old forward.
Even though Liverpool are currently well-stocked in attack, Beier is a versatile talent with a lot to offer the Reds and his whole career ahead of him.
The Germany Under-21 international mainly operates at centre-forward but can also play as a winger on either flank if required.
He has already established himself as one of Hoffenheim’s most important players this season and has six goals and four assists from just 13 Bundesliga outings.
That tally includes goals in four consecutive league matches between August 26 and September 23.
Beier recently extended his contract at Hoffenheim until 2027, which reportedly includes a release clause of around €30million, or £26million.
The youngster also is blessed with ‘ferocious speed‘. As per the Bundesliga website, he has recorded a top speed of 35.45kph. This is faster that Kyle Walker’s highest speed from last season (35.01kph).

Even though a new forward probably isn’t a priority for Liverpool at present, Beier looks like the sort of player that you need to snap up if the opportunity arises.
With a reported price tag of less than £30million, the Reds could land a top talent ahead of many top competitors.
As for Hoffenheim, selling Beier would provide them with a decent sum of money that they can reinvest.
As a club, they seem to rely heavily on the sale of their best players, as seen with the sales of Christoph Baumgartner and David Raum over the past two seasons.
With that in mind, Beier should be a fairly attainable target for Liverpool.
