Jurgen Klopp would have been very satisfied with his Liverpool team’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

Liverpool managed to see off a spirited second half comeback from Spurs after taking advantage of another poor start from Antonio Conte’s side.

A report from Calciomercato suggests that Klopp may already be looking to January to start improving his squad.

The Reds made one big investment in the summer, bringing in Darwin Nunez as a replacement for Sadio Mane.

The erratic Uruguayan has looked effective in bursts, but needs to work on his decision making in the final third.

It’s an area in recent years that’s looked solid in recent years under Klopp.

However, too often they’ve been caught out this season, and may now look to improve their back line in January.

Calciomercato now believe Liverpool want to sign Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.

The Brazilian defender, often known just as Bremer, would be available for £57m according to the Italian outlet.

Liverpool want to sign Bremer

Klopp has had his fair number of injury issues with his centre-back in the past few seasons.

Despite Joel Matip’s clear quality, he can’t be relied on upon to play a full league campaign.

Ibrahima Konate is only 23, and is likely to be the future of Liverpool’s central defence, but he too has had fitness issues.

There may even be concerns over Virgil van Dijk, given he’s now 31 and has suffered a major knee injury in the past two years.

Bremer’s stock is very much on the rise in Italy, having moved from Torino to Juventus in the summer.

Journalist Bruno Andrade also believes he’s going to the World Cup with Brazil this month ahead of Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes.

Liverpool want to sign Bremer is a sign that the club are looking to the future.

The presence of Van Dijk at the club might be one way to draw the 25-year-old’s attention.

He previously admitted to be a big fan of the Dutchman and considers him a role model.

“I’ve always liked Lucio, but considering the contemporary defenders, I think Virgil van Dijk is really strong,” Bremer said to DAZN, via Liverpool Echo.

He suffered a serious injury, but he has everything: physical strength, quality, sense of position.”

Bremer may be able to look forward to lining up alongside his role model in the near future.
