Liverpool make contact to sign Luis Guilherme

Well – according to Nosso Palestra – the Reds have been in touch with Palmeiras to ask what it would take to sign the Brazilian.

The South American news outlet believe Liverpool are considering a summer move for Guilherme as those on the recruitment team at Anfield aim to make a signing for the long term.

It is said that the 18-year-old has a release clause worth $55m (£44m) written into his contract with Palmeiras, which was agreed when he signed a new deal back in November.

The teenager has been starring alongside Endrick for the Brazilian giants, with many expecting the Brazil U20 international to follow a similar trajectory to the €70m (£60m) Real Madrid man and dominate Europe in years to come.

Who is Luis Guilherme?

The South American is yet to fulfil his potential and become a household name, so a comparison to a better known player may be of use to you.

Interestingly, Guilherme has been likened to one of the greatest in Rivaldo.

It was Brazilian football expert Marcos Watts who made the comparison when speaking to Transfermarkt about the Aracaju-born wonderkid.

Watts added: “He is very fast – both physically but also mentally – and has an excellent left foot.”

In our view, if Liverpool do manage to sign Guilherme, he will be loaned back to Palmeiras for at least one more season, as the attacking department at Anfield is already well stocked.
