Liverpool are looking at the January transfer window to try and fix their defensive issues and could make a move for Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix.
The Reds have been rocked by an injury to Joel Matip and there is a growing concern for Jurgen Klopp that he’ll need a new defender to get through the season.
Joe Gomez and Ibou Konate are available, as is youngster Jarrell Quansah. However, Klopp is believed to want another longer-term option as well and according to The Mirror, sees Lacroix as an ideal signing.

It’s reported that the ‘outstanding‘ Lacroix could be available for around £25m and Liverpool would look to even try and negotiate that down due to him being in the final two years of his contract.
Lacroix would be expected to come straight into the team but also provide the Reds with a future option in terms of development.
Marc Guehi is also said to be a target, but a January deal for him is deemed unlikely.
Lacroix would surely love Liverpool chance
If a move to Anfield comes up then there aren’t many players who are going to turn it down.
The January window is always a big problem for clubs in terms of getting deals over the line.
But with Liverpool, you do feel if they want to get someone in then they will act. This season, they’re right in the title race and a signing or two in January might just get them over the line.
With City struggling a bit there is a real opening right now for others and Liverpool are one of the sides who can take advantage.
Signing Lacroix, then, would only add to the ranks and give them a big chance of success.
