Report: Liverpool now in contact to sign 'amazing' 21-year-old midfielder, Manchester City also want him

Liverpool have reportedly made contact to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, with Manchester City also interested in the youngster.

The 21-year-old Ukrainian international has emerged as the country’s latest superstar talent, with Sudakov impressing for Shakhtar this season in the UEFA Champions League.

Previously linked with a move to Arsenal, interest is building for Sudakov after the midfielder’s performances in Europe, and Liverpool have entered the race in a big way.

According to CalcioMercato, the Reds have made contact with Sudakov’s over a potential deal, though City, along with Juventus, Napoli and Bayern Munich, have made similar plays.

As per the report, the ‘amazing’ Shakhtar prospect has firmly caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, and it’s Liverpool who are pushing the hardest to sign Sudakov.

Indeed, Liverpool beating the likes of City to Sudakov’s signature would be quite the coup, and the Ukrainian youngster would be a fine addition to Jurgen Klopp’s ranks.

At 21, the hype surrounding Sudakov is astonishing for someone playing for Shakhtar, yet it speaks volume about how highly rated the midfielder is.

And for Liverpool, beating the likes of City to Sudakov would be huge, with the midfielder the sort of player the Reds are missing from their current arsenal of options.

Whilst other big European clubs could cause some problems, Liverpool’s intense interest in Sudakov could see the Reds win this transfer race, and the midfielder could be a great addition for the Anfield side.
