Liverpool are now said to be very keen to sign one of their talented youngsters to a new contract as a matter of priority.

Perhaps Jurgen Klopp’s use of Liverpool’s academy graduates at Wembley on Sunday was a huge nod to the next generation at Anfield.

Klopp proved that if you’re good enough, you will definitely get your chance.

Conor Bradley has been the break-out star of this season, a 20-year-old who now seems to be considered part of the senior squad, such is his progress.

And as Liverpool look to secure the future of their squad, especially with a new manager set to arrive, it’s no surprise that they’ve begun thinking about new contracts.

Liverpool’s next boss, whether it’s Xabi Alonso, Ruben Amorim, or another candidate, will know there’s a responsibility to continue the rich connection between the academy and first team at Anfield.

And perhaps Keyrol Figueroa, who joined the club in 2022, could be the next player to tread the well known path.

Liverpool now want to sign youngster Keyrol Figueroa to a new contract

Figueroa, the son of former Wigan Athletic star Maynor, is thought to have big potential to fulfil at Anfield.

And according to a report by Honduran outlet Diez, Liverpool want to hand Keyrol Figueroa a new contract as soon as possible.

The information states that Liverpool have zero interest in losing the 17-year-old, who could agree a new deal next month after weeks of talks.

Figueroa is planned to join the under-21 team at Liverpool next season, and it’s therefore obvious why the club would want to hand the youngster a new contract.

It will likely be a few years before we’ll see the United States youth international near the first team, and who knows who will be manager at the time.

But judging by this information, there seems little need to worry that Figueroa will head elsewhere in the near future.

All that being said, one manager has now been warned against joining Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp leaves this summer.
