Liverpool might want to sign Jude Bellingham at all costs next summer, but they are also not giving up hope on Wolves’ Matheus Nunes either.
As has been widely reported, the Reds are keen on signing Bellingham ahead of a host of big European clubs, with the Englishman in-demand. However, he will cost north of £100m if reports are to be believed and the Reds might need other targets in mind.
And according to 90Min, that target could end up being Wolves star Nunes. The Portuguese midfielder has only just arrived at Molineux but he was tracked this summer by Liverpool as well, according to reports. And 90Min claims once again this morning that Liverpool remain keen on signing him.

It would also take some convincing for Wolves, who having just spent £42m on the midfielder, won’t want to simply lose him after one season in the PL. Naturally, the lure of Champions League football with Liverpool might be a factor, but Wolves are trying to build themselves.
TBR’s View: Nunes A Lot To Prove Before Liverpool Move
In a strange way, Nunes signing for Wolves might be a blessing for Liverpool. They get to see him in action in the English game and if he impresses then there it’s more validation they are targeting the right player.
Of course, if he does have a good season then his value goes up and it means Liverpool will likely pay a lot more than they would have this summer.
But at the end of the day, the Reds need a new midfielder at some point and if Klopp believes it’s Nunes, then that might be who they push for. Pep Guardiola termed him one of the ‘best in the world’. It’s now down to Nunes to show that promise.
