Liverpool could be set to move for German World Cup winning goalkeeper, Ron Robert Zieler, as Jurgen Klopp looks to bring in a new stopper.
Zieler is said to be annoyed at the fact Hannover haven’t offered him a new contract and according to BILD, a move to Liverpool could be on the cards.
It’s suggested that Zieler is open to signing for the Reds. He knows he would be behind Alisson in the pecking order but may well be a number two depending on the future of Caoimhin Kelleher. The 24-year-old Irish goalkeeper has been happy enough to play in the cup competitions and back Alisson up.

Zieler, 33, would provide an experienced hand as back up to the impressive Alisson. A World Cup winner with Germany, Zieler certainly doesn’t lack knowledge or experience at the top level. It seems to be a move certain clubs like to do, with Manchester United recently signing Jack Butland to bolster their own goalkeeping ranks.
TBR’s View: Kelleher should look for first-team football
Kelleher has proven himself a capable deputy while at Liverpool and at 24, is relatively young in goalkeeping terms.
However, he is surely too good to keep sitting on the bench. He has dreams of maintaining his status as Ireland’s number one and he improves the chances of doing that by playing regularly.
A host of PL clubs would take Kelleher from Liverpool. Certainly, any of the clubs who win promotion would surely take a top young goalkeeper from a big club.
Zieler, meanwhile, would bring a steady head and hand to the Reds’ ranks. He’d know his role as a number two, and should prove a capable back up for Alisson.
