Liverpool are among the teams considering a bid for Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio after watching him in person in midweek.
Inacio is emerging as one of the leading young players in Europe and a number of clubs are thought to be keen on signing him.
Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move for Inacio, while Tottenham have also been credited with holding an interest in the defender.
However, according to Record over in Portugal, it is Liverpool who are looking to land Inacio and the Reds sent a scout to watch the defender against Sturm Graz in midweek.

Inacio is believed to hold a £51.5m release-clause and it’s claimed by the report from Record that a bid in January is now a possibility.
Liverpool looking at signing Goncalo Inacio
There’s absolutely no doubt Liverpool need to sign a new defender or two over the new few windows.
Joel Matip’s injury has left them short and with Virgil van Dijk now into his 30s as well, Jurgen Klopp needs to ensure that he has all the bases covered going forward.
Further, Ibou Konate seems to pick up injuries as well and right now you’d have to say that Liverpool don’t exactly seem flush with reliable quality at centre-half.
In terms of Inacio, he’d be a fine addition to the ranks.
The 22-year-old is clearly one of the stars of the future over in Portugal and we’ve seen so much talent come to England from there recently, it almost seems inevitable he winds up in the PL.
It does seem like there’s going to be a race for Inacio here. In the end, it might come down to who puts up the cash and lands one of Europe’s best defensive prospects.
