Liverpool are reportedly discussing the possibility of signing Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix.
That’s according to The Daily Mail, with the outlet sharing an update on Liverpool’s search for a new centre-back.
Liverpool were widely expected to bring in a new central defender over the summer due to ongoing concerns over Ibrahima Konate’s fitness.
The Reds were linked with moves for a host of names, including the likes of Levi Colwill, Goncalo Inacio and Micky van de Ven.
Of course, Colwill and Van de Ven are out of reach now after the latter joined Tottenham, while the Chelsea man penned a new deal.
But it seems that Jurgen Klopp is still keen to snap up a centre-back as he bids to bolster his squad to keep Liverpool in the title race.
And Maxence Lacroix is a player of interest to the Reds after an impressive spell in Germany.

The Mail claims that Lacroix is a name that has been mentioned at Liverpool. But it’s noted that the Reds don’t view him as a priority signing at this stage.
Lacroix has been ever-present for Wolfsburg this term, racking up 17 appearances in all competitions.
The Frenchman has been labelled an ‘outstanding’ defender and at 23, he seems to have a bright future ahead of him.

A defensive midfielder feels like a must for the Reds given Wataru Endo’s start to life at Anfield. But a central defender could be equally as important given Joel Matip’s injury and Konate’s struggles with his fitness.
Lacroix would certainly add quality depth to Liverpool’s backline but they may be tempted to go for a more experienced option if they remain in the title race next month.
