Liverpool have chased Kylian Mbappe for years – although the imminent departure of Jurgen Klopp has damaged the club’s chances of signing the Frenchman.
That is according to le10sport.
So, what is the situation involving Kylian Mbappe and Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool fans to digest? Let’s take a look…
Jurgen Klopp exit has dented Liverpool chances of signing Kylian Mbappe
Well – according to le10sport – the German and the PSG No.7 have a fantastic relationship, and have previously spoken to each other on the phone.
Liverpool have thrown their hat in the ring to sign Mbappe this summer after he told PSG of his intentions to leave on a free transfer – the France international’s contract expires in July.
However – according to the French news outlet – Liverpool’s chances of signing the £166m man have diminished considerably after Klopp announced that he would be leaving Anfield this summer.

The Paris-born superstar has enjoyed another remarkable campaign at the Parc des Princes, scoring 32 goals while also providing seven assists in just 31 appearances across all competitions.
Liverpool have other areas to prioritise
Obviously, any club in world football would love to have Mbappe.
However – while it would have been nice to see the World Cup winner under Klopp – Liverpool have better uses for the money it would take to sign him.

Those on the recruitment team at Liverpool would seem to agree – they were ready to spend a club record £110m on Moises Caicedo back in August.
Whatever happens, Liverpool are set to spend this summer to back whoever replaces Klopp – by the looks of it, that man could well be Xabi Alonso.
