Jurgen Klopp has England international Jude Bellingham top of his Liverpool wish list for transfer windows to come.
The Athletic report that the Borussia Dortmund man is the midfielder Klopp wants more than any other.
Liverpool have finished the transfer window without a permanent midfield recruit despite their injury problems and perhaps a lack of a playmaker.
Arthur came in on deadline day but he is just on loan with an option to buy from Juventus.

That means that a longer term solution can be found in either January or the summer transfer window, and Bellingham would fit the bill.
By the start of 2023, the World Cup will have been and gone and Liverpool’s midfield picture should be clearer by then.
Some Liverpool fans might have wanted their club to sign Bellingham this summer but that was never going to happen in truth.
Dortmund tend to only sell one big star per summer and they sold Erling Haaland to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
And Haaland has already spoken about how good he thinks Bellingham is, saying: “Jude’s amazing. So he’s 18 and is three years younger than me. It’s crazy. What can I say? He’s amazing.”
Steven Gerrard knows what it takes to make it as a central midfielder at Liverpool and has called Bellingham one of the best midfielders in the world, saying he ‘loves’ him as a player, as per Amazon Prime.
