Jurgen Klopp and his staff at Liverpool have consistently reinforced to Wataru Endo that he belongs at this level.
That is according to The Athletic.
So, what is the situation involving Wataru Endo at Liverpool? Let’s take a look…
Liverpool have needed to reassure Wataru Endo
Well, the Japan international arrived at Liverpool in a £16.2m deal from VfB Stuttgart back in August 2023 – after the Reds failed with moves to sign Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.
Arriving as a well documented backup option could easily dent a player’s belief, and – according to The Athletic – Endo did struggle with confidence in his early days at Anfield.
However, it is said that the 31-year-old is now starting to come out of his shell around the AXA Training Centre, with Klopp and his staff regularly telling the Liverpool No.3 that he belongs at a club of this stature.

Jurgen Klopp’s man management skills strike again
The German is arguably the greatest man manager on the planet, and very rarely sees one of his signings fail to deliver at Liverpool.
Endo not only had to acclimatise to a new country with four young children, but the man from Yokohama also had to deal with hasty pundits who could not wait to criticise him, such as Chris Sutton – an expert when it comes to moaning.

If this season ends with a Premier League title – or even just one trophy – it would be the stuff of dreams for Endo.
