Liverpool have been dealt a huge blow as Diogo Jota faces months on the sidelines.
The Portugal international suffered a calf injury in Liverpool’s 1-0 Premier League win over Manchester City.
Jota will miss Liverpool’s remaining eight games ahead of the World Cup, as well as the Qatar tournament.

Luis Diaz suffered a knee injury against Arsenal that will keep him out until after the World Cup.
According to The Athletic, Fabio Carvalho ‘looks best placed to benefit from that vacancy wide on the left’.
James Pearce noted how the 20-year-old started there against Rangers in the Champions League and did well.
Carvalho ‘impressed Klopp and his staff with his temperament as much as his ability on the ball.
‘They admired how he responded to the error that led to Rangers opening the scoring.
Carvalho then ‘followed up that display with a composed cameo off the bench on Sunday and has earned the trust of his manager.’

But Carvalho, a player Phil Thompson has deemed “sensational“, seems like he’ll be getting the nod over the coming weeks.
While it’s a huge shame that Jota will be on the sidelines for a while, we could now see Carvalho properly burst onto the scene.
