Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp personally wants to sign Arthur Vermeeren from Royal Antwerp.
That is according to TuttoJuve, which has noted the transfer fee that Liverpool will need to pay for Vermeeren.
So, what has been reported about Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp and Arthur Vermeeren? Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, according to TuttoJuve, Liverpool are interested in signing Arthur Vermeeren from Royal Antwerp.
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp himself is “interested in having Vermeeren in his squad for next season”.
Antwerp will sell the 18-year-old Belgium international midfielder for €20 million (£17.30 million).
TuttoJuve has added that Barcelona and Juventus are also keen on securing the services of Vermeeren.
Arsenal have been linked with the teenage midfielder as well. Tottenham Hotspur are interested in him too.
Liverpool should bid for Arthur Vermeeren in January 2024
In my opinion, Liverpool should make a bid for Royal Antwerp midfielder Arthur Vermeeren in the January transfer window.
I do not think that the former Premier League an UEFA Champions League winners should wait until the end of the season to make an offer.
Photo by Stuart Franklin/Getty ImagesIf Antwerp is ready to sell Vermeeren for €20 million (£17.30 million), then I do not think Liverpool should wait until the end of the season to try to make a deal.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants the teenager, so I believe that FSG should try to strike a deal in January 2024.
Vermeeren has scored one goal and given two assists in 15 Jupiler Pro League matches for Antwerp this season.
The midfielder scored one goal and provided two assists in 24 league starts for the Belgian club last season.
Liverpool are aiming to win the Premier League title this season and are looking very good at the moment.
