A Liverpool player who is currently excelling while out on loan is set to be handed a chance to impress in pre-season.
It seems likely that it will be Arne Slot taking Liverpool forward after Jurgen Klopp’s departure at the end of the season.
The Dutchman is closing in on a switch to Anfield after emerging as the favoured candidate last month.
While Slot is set to take over a talented squad, there will be plenty of work to do ahead of the new season.
Liverpool have fallen off the pace during the business end of the season and look to have missed out on the Premier League title.
There will undoubtedly be changes during the Slot era, despite the Dutchman boasting a similar style of football to that of Klopp.
And should Slot land in Merseyside this summer as expected, he could take a closer look at some of Liverpool’s loanees.

The Mirror reports that Sepp van den Berg is set to get a chance to ‘impress’ during pre-season.
The young centre-back is currently on loan at Bundesliga outfit Mainz, where he’s racked up 33 appearances in all competitions this season.
Despite a difficult season for Mainz as they sit third bottom in the league, Van den Berg has impressed in the heart of defence.

Many players benefit from heading out on loan to rack up valuable first-team experience.
This has proven to be the case for Van den Berg, who had made just four appearances for the Reds before joining Mainz last summer.
Based on the statistics alone, the 22-year-old is among the best young centre-backs in Europe right now.
Indeed, according to WhoScored, the ‘incredible’ Dutchman boasts the best average rating (7.02) of any centre-back under the age of 23 in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
Given the fact that Joel Matip could depart on a free transfer this summer, it would make sense for Liverpool to hand Van den Berg a chance to impress.
The Reds are reportedly in the market for new additions in central defence but Van den Berg looks destined for a bright future in the game.
