Liverpool might have signed some new midfielders in the summer but one they didn’t get their hands on was Crystal Palace star, Cheick Doucoure.
The 23-year-old midfielder has become a key player for Palace and was linked with a move to Liverpool over the summer months.
Jurgen Klopp is apparently a big fan of Doucoure and with the Reds still looking a defensive midfielder short, it’s obvious why there’s an interest in Doucoure.
However, any potential Liverpool move for Doucoure might need to be put on hold with the midfielder apparently set to miss a big chunk of time with injury.
Cheick Doucoure suffers serious injury
According to The Daily Mail, the Crystal Palace midfielder is now likely to miss around six months after going down with an achilles injury at the weekend.

The midfielder would have been hoping to have another big season and in turn, impress Klopp and Liverpool once again.
Liverpool might need to look elsewhere
The Reds have been using Alexis Mac Allister in that deeper midfield role of late and while he is good enough, there’s till a gap there.
A player like Doucoure would be ideal. He’s the right age and looks to be on the up in terms of his Premier League development. Described by Breaking The Lines as a ‘complete’ midfielder, it’s easy to see why clubs like the Reds like him.
However, a big injury like this could prove costly and it would well force Liverpool to look elsewhere now.
Spending big money – around £70m based on previous reports on Doucoure – means the player needs to be fully fit and ready to go. Sadly for Doucoure, this one looks like it’s going to take some time to get over.
With that in mind, the Reds might need to draw up a list of fresh options instead.
