One European giant is now starting to give up hope of hiring a “special” manager this summer – as they believe he will join Liverpool.
The Reds are currently searching for Jurgen Klopp‘s replacement, although the German has chosen to depart at a time where a number of other European powerhouses are also looking for a new leader.
Bayern Munich will wave goodbye to Thomas Tuchel this summer, while Barcelona will also say farewell to Xavi.
Now, an interesting development has occurred involving Liverpool and Barcelona…
Barcelona think “special” manager will join Liverpool
Well – according to Spanish news outlet SPORT – Barcelona are keen to hire Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP.
Former Portugal international Deco – Director of Football at Barcelona – holds strong connections in that part of Europe, and sees the man from Lisbon as an ideal fit to replace Xavi.
However, SPORT believe Barcelona are starting to give up on Amorim for two reasons.

Secondly, SPORT state that Barcelona think Amorim – who has been called a “special” coach – will join Liverpool anyway.
It comes amid a story from Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda, who claims that negotiations between the Sporting CP boss and Liverpool are currently taking place.
Ruben Amorim could bring a Sporting CP player to Anfield
As things stand, Amorim seems most likely to replace Klopp this summer.
If an agreement does materialise, the man with 155 career wins in football management could bring Goncalo Inacio with him.

Liverpool could use another central defender as Joel Matip’s contract expires this summer, and given the fact Inacio has made 161 appearances under Amorim at Sporting CP, a deal would make plenty of sense.
