Liverpool target Bruno Guimaraes wants to leave Newcastle
Well, according to The Telegraph, Bruno Guimaraes wants to leave Newcastle United for a new challenge in the summer of 2024.
The report has claimed that Newcastle are concerned over the future of Bruno and could sell the midfielder they paid £35 million for.
The Brazil international has a release clause of £100 million in his contract. Bruno has interest from Paris Saint-Germain but his dream is to play in Spain at some point in the future.
Earlier this month, Football Transfers reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Bruno from Premier League rivals Newcastle. The report noted that Chelsea are looking at the 26-year-old as well.
Bruno has made 69 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has scored 10 goals and given nine assists in those games. Newcastle are aiming to finish in the top four, while Liverpool are looking to win the league title.
My View: Liverpool do not need Bruno Guimaraes
In my opinion, Liverpool do not need to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United in the January transfer window or in the summer of 2024, especially if they have to pay £100 million for him.
I do not think that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners need to sign another midfielder anytime soon.
Liverpool signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch in the summer of 2023. Curtis Jones has come through the academy and is expected to star for the first team in years to come.
