Chelsea are ready to push on with their bid to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as their main target.
Osimhen is a wanted man in English football and has been linked with a move to a number of top clubs.
Liverpool are one of the clubs known to hold an interest in Osimhen, while Arsenal have long been admirers of the ‘phenomenal‘ forward.
However, according to a report from The Telegraph, it is Chelsea who are ready to push hardest to sign Osimhen in the coming windows.
Chelsea to make push to sign Victor Osimhen
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are ready to make Osimhen their number one priority when it comes to signing a new striker.
Osimhen has lit up Serie A ever since signing for Napoli but is thought to be open to leaving if the right move comes along.
Photo by Ivan Romano/Getty ImagesThe Premier League is the next logical step for the Nigerian, where the money will be high in terms of wages and clubs like Chelsea can pay Napoli the £130m plus they want for him.
Osimhen fired Napoli into the latter stages of the Champions League last term and was also a key figure in them winning the Italian title.
Chelsea, as we know, have splashed the cash in recent windows but remain without a top number nine.
The missing piece of the jigsaw
Chelsea are doing ok in some games and looked to be building nicely before being hammered this weekend.
They are just a few good players short you feel and signing someone like Victor Osimhen could well be just what they need to do to get to the next level.
All the top teams have a good striker and while Nicolas Jackson has done well at times, he’s not the real deal like Osimhen just yet.
If this one can be done, then Chelsea are making a real statement. Given the interest in Osimhen, if the Blues land him, then it’s a huge piece of business.
