Liverpool may have to see off competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona if they want to appoint a 45-year-old manager this summer.
There still remains a huge question mark over who exactly will succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. Understandably, a host of names have been linked with the post since Klopp announced in January that he would be leaving.
Richard Keys claimed that Xabi Alonso had already agreed to take over at Liverpool, before the Bayer Leverkusen boss confirmed that he would be staying put next season.
Meanwhile, reported interest in Ruben Amorim is seemingly fading. West Ham are now making a push for the Sporting head coach.
And a new name is emerging into the frame.
Bayern Munich rivalling Liverpool for Arne Slot
According to a report from 90min today, Liverpool are interested in Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.
Slot clinched the Eredivisie title last year. He has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs previously.
Tottenham were turned down by Slot last summer. Meanwhile, Leeds eyed an ambitious move for Slot when they sacked Jesse Marsch a few months earlier.
It would surely be incredibly difficult to turn down Liverpool. But there may be a number of European giants looking to throw a spanner in the works.

Feyenoord would want a compensation package worth around £10 million for Slot and his coaching staff, which may be too much for Barca and the Rossoneri.
For Liverpool, that could be a bargain if they are confident that Slot would be the right replacement for Klopp.
A gamble some Reds fans will want club to now take
Obviously, whoever they turn to would come with an element of risk. And some fans may have their concerns about Slot considering that he is yet to manage outside the Netherlands.
Slot’s Feyenoord side do utilise a high-pressing style. And it is telling that the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern all have an interest in him.
But clearly, the last few weeks have shown that there are likely to be plenty of twists before Liverpool do indeed announce who Klopp’s successor will be.
