Barcelona now dream of appointing Jurgen Klopp as their manager, but are aware that it will be really complicated to convince the Liverpool boss to come to Camp Nou.
It looks as though the two big vacancies in world football this summer will be at Liverpool and Barcelona. Jurgen Klopp brought the game to a standstill in January when he announced that he would be leaving at the end of the season.
Xavi meanwhile, announced shortly afterwards that he also intends to leave the Catalan giants after a much more difficult season this year.
Barcelona dream of appointing Jurgen Klopp
The good news for Liverpool fans, it seems, is that Klopp is not intending to make an immediate return to management elsewhere. The German has already suggested that he intends to take a break once he moves on.

Unsurprisingly, the report adds that such an approach would be incredibly complicated. So other names are being considered for the role.
Liverpool boss will surely be giving no thought to his next job yet
It is hard to know where Klopp goes from here. Arguably, the Germany job seems the most obvious next step. Julian Nagelsmann is only under contract until Euro 2024. So that role will soon become available. And it would allow Klopp to be less involved than he is at Liverpool.
Managing an international team with his next job may also make his departure from Anfield slightly easier.
Turning down Barcelona is almost impossible for most coaches. Having said that, it is telling that Xavi needs to step away after just over two years. Barca are not the force they once were. And it is going to take someone special to sort them out again.
Much will depend on whether Klopp has the hunger for such a big challenge so soon after leaving Liverpool.
