Barcelona are closest to hiring Ruben Amorim and feel they can beat Liverpool to the Sporting CP manager’s signature.
That is according to the Independent.
So, what is the latest on Ruben Amorim and Liverpool? Let’s take a look…
Barcelona closest to Ruben Amorim
Well – according to The Times – Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are likely to interview the Portuguese tactician about replacing Jurgen Klopp.
The Daily Mail add that Liverpool have scouted a number of Sporting CP matches this season to have a look at Amorim’s style of play.
Now, however, Barcelona are confident about hiring the 39-year-old.
The Independent believe Barcelona feel they can take advantage of the fact Liverpool and Bayern Munich have both made Alonso their No.1 managerial target by getting a major head start on Amorim.
It is said that the Spanish giants have made the man from Lisbon their primary target to replace Xavi, and are closer to hiring him than any other side.

In total, the Barcelona and Liverpool target has won 152 of his 215 games in football management, drawing 30 while averaging 2.26 points per game.
Liverpool need a response from Xabi Alonso
If Alonso really is Liverpool’s No.1 target, the Reds need a response quickly.
It would be a nightmare if FSG spent a considerable amount of time chasing the Spaniard, only for him to choose Bayern Munich or stay at Bayer Leverkusen.

Be sure to keep an eye on this developing situation, as Barcelona make Amorim their No.1 target.
