Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are ready to beat Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to the signing of Lucas Beraldo.

That is according to TuttoJuve, which has reported how much Arsenal are willing to pay for the Brazilian defender.

So, what has been reported about Arsenal and Liverpool target Lucas Beraldo? Let’s take a look.

Arsenal ready to beat Liverpool to Lucas Beraldo signing

Well, according to TuttoJuve, Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus are interested in signing Lucas Beraldo from Sao Paulo in the January transfer window.

The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Leicester City, who are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League, are also keen on the central defender.

Arsenal are ready to make a bid of €30 million (£25.85 million) for the 20-year-old centre-back and beat the likes of Liverpool and Leicester to his signature.

The report has noted that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta personally wants the Brazilian youngster, who has been described as “outstanding”.

Arsenal should aim for a more experienced defender than Lucas Beraldo

In my view, Arsenal do not need to sign Lucas Beraldo in the January transfer window, especially for £26 million.

I think that it is too much to pay for a 20-year-old who is playing in Brazil.

I believe that Arsenal could get a better, more mature and more developed centre-back if they are willing to pay a bit more.

Now, of course, Beraldo is a very good and promising young talent. Liverpool and Juventus’s interest in him shows that. He has been compared to Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven as well.

But, Arsenal are now at a stage where they need not sign young players and develop them. They should be bringing in footballers in their early to mid-20s who will make the first team better and make an immediate impact.
