Report: £58k-a-week Liverpool player could leave in January, Klopp's only used him once this season

Adrian could now leave Liverpool when the January transfer window opens.

The goalkeeper has only been seen in the Community Shield this season, when the Reds beat Manchester City 3-1.

Caoimhin Kelleher has now established himself as the second choice goalkeeper behind Alisson, and ESPN claim that means Adrian could leave next month.

They say that outfield departures in the winter window are less likely because Jurgen Klopp will not want to weaken the depth of his squad.

The tough thing for the Spaniard is that not many clubs tend to be looking for a first choice goalkeeper in the mid-season window.

Bayern Munich do need someone to cover for Manuel Neuer’s injury, but when the Germany international is back next season, whoever they bring in will be number two again.

Adrian may move into a second choice role somewhere, which would at least allow him the chance to play in some cup games potentially.

But the £58k-a-week man may be better to sit tight and try a part behind the scenes in any success Liverpool have this season.

Then he can assess his situation in the summer when he may have more chance of getting a good move to a club who will play him every week.

That said, if the time has come where he has got fed up of being third choice, Liverpool may let him go during a window where few other departures are expected.
