Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo finds Liverpool appealing
Well, according to Nice-Martin, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice in the January transfer window.
The report in the French news outlet has reported that Ligue 1 club Nice are willing to sell Todibo this month but only for €60 million (£52 million).
Nice-Martin has reported that the 24-year-old France international central defender finds Liverpool “very attractive”.
The French news outlet has noted that the Merseyside club are having a very good season, have a “legendary stadium”, Anfield, and have one of Todibo’s good friends, Ibrahima Konate.
The report has added Liverpool are looking at Todibo as a potential long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk. Although the former Celtic centre-back is getting back to his best, he is 32 years of age now.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the former Barcelona centre-back.
My View: Jean-Clair Todibo a potential good signing for Liverpool
In my opinion, Nice central defender Jean-Clair Todibo would be a good signing for Liverpool. I do not think that a January transfer will happen, but anything is possible in the summer of 2024.
Todibo did not have the best of times at Barcelona and made a handful of appearances for the Spanish club, but he has been superb for Nice.
The defender is a more mature player now than he was four or five years ago. And he is still only 24. Todibo has his best years ahead of him.
Todibo has given one assist in 14 Ligue 1 matches this season. During the 2022-23 campaign, the defender made 33 starts in the league, while in 2021-22, he made 35 starts in Ligue 1.
