Liverpool saw their title hopes hit the buffers this weekend with defeat to Crystal Palace but their search for a new manager is still going on in the background.
FSG and Michael Edwards are working hard to find the right man to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
After missing out on Xabi Alonso, who won the German league with Bayer Leverkusen this weekend, attentions have turned to other candidates.
As it stands, the Sport Lisbon manager, Ruben Amorim, is believed to be the number one contender to replace Klopp at Anfield.
However, nothing is signed and sealed just yet and that means other names are still in the mix.
New name enters fray to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager
While Amorim is quickly becoming the choice for many a Liverpool fan, with nothing done just yet, the Reds need to have other options.
And according to a report from the Daily Mail, former Bayern Munich manager, Niko Kovac, is a potential option for the Reds.
Kovac is currently out of work after a spell with Wolfsburg didn’t turn out too well.

It’s claimed in the report that Kovac’s agents have been over in England recently as they sound out their man for potential jobs.
Niko Kovac would be a left-field appointment by Liverpool
We are getting to a point now where it feels like if it’s anybody but Ruben Amorim, then Liverpool fans are going to feel disappointed.
There’s been so much chatter about him taking the job that it would be another blow – like with Alonso – if he doesn’t step into the hotseat.
With Kovac, there are pros and cons, like with any manager.
But on the whole, this would feel a bit of a shot in the dark by FSG. Kovac is now 52 and while that brings experience, it’s hardly like Liverpool are going for a new up and coming coach either who is going to change the game.
This very much feels like Kovac and his team trying to get his name out there.
Liverpool fans will probably be hoping it’s nothing more than that as they cling to hopes of landing Amorim.
