A lot has been made of the incident at Nottingham Forest this weekend which allowed Liverpool to snatch a late winner.
Referee Paul Tierney allowed Liverpool to get the ball back when in reality, the ball should have been given to Nottingham Forest. As we know, the Reds scored 2 minutes later through Darwin Nunez to win the game in dramatic fashion.
The fallout from the incident has been huge, with Chris Sutton among those to voice his opinion on the situation.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Corsie said that Diaz passing the ball back towards Caoimhin Kelleher is something he’ll have done on purpose.
“I actually think Luis Diaz is really smart there. Players sort of knowing in that moment that the ref is trying to think about a lot of things. He’s just thinking I’m going to play the ball back there and there’s a chance we might get it. I know from playing in games sometimes drop balls are one of the worst things for the ref, there’s so often if that’s the decision you find the decision going to the team with less danger and sometimes they say just pass this backwards so they can get into position. That one he has got wrong but I don’t think it’s that controversial how the game ended,” Corsie said.
An interesting spot among the chaos for Liverpool
This is a really good spot from Corsie and while Tierney perhaps shouldn’t have been influenced by the decision from Diaz, it might well have played a part here.
Whether or not £37m man Diaz did it knowing that it would lead to them getting the ball back is open to debate.
But with so much going off, it probably did influence Tierney who will have seen the ball inside the 18 yard box and probably assumed it was then fine to just play on.
So much has been made of this incident that it seems like one that will continue for some time yet.
This take from Corsie, though, is one of the most interesting yet.
