Liverpool weren’t at it against Arsenal on Sunday.
For whatever reason, the Reds didn’t turn up against the Gunners this weekend.
Liverpool were turgid, uninspired and slow against Arsenal, and, as you can imagine, many are pointing fingers at some of the Reds’ underperformers on the day.
Speaking on Off The Ball, Keith Treacy has been dissecting the Reds’ loss to Arsenal, and he’s named Trent Alexander-Arnold as a player he thinks wasn’t good enough on the day, claiming that the right-back’s performance was really poor.

Treacy shared his verdict on the 25-year-old.
“I didn’t think Liverpool were up to much, you won’t get Van Dijk playing like that again and I thought Trent Alexander-Arnold was really poor, hence why he was taken off before the 60th minute, even Alisson in goal wasn’t great, Liverpool were just under par,” Treacy said.
Wasn’t at it
As harsh as it is to single out a player who has been out with an injury for a little while, it has to be said that Treacy is right.
Alexander-Arnold has been so good for Liverpool this season, but Sunday was certainly an off day for the full-back.
Unfortuantely, Alexander-Arnold can have days like this where he struggles to make his mark on a game, and it’s doubly frustrating that this sort of performance came in a match of this calibre against Arsenal.
Of course, Alexander-Arnold still has plenty of credit in the bank after his remarkable form this season, but he does need to step things up a tad after this weekend’s lacklustre performance.
Let’s hope that Alexander-Arnold can get back to his best in the next game, because Liverpool aren’t the same team when Alexander-Arnold isn’t in his groove and making things happen as he has done for so many years.
