Injuries at Liverpool have forced Jurgen Klopp to test the depths of his squad and even promote a number of young stars – and it has left Fernando Torres impressed with three to get game time.
Despite injuries, Liverpool have won seven of their last nine games in all competitions since the 3-1 loss to Arsenal. That includes an extra-time Carabao Cup final win at Wembley, Virgil van Dijk scoring.
Defeat to Manchester United in The FA Cup last time out was a crying shame, but Klopp still has two more competitions he can win as the curtain begins to close on his Liverpool. The League, and Europe.
There is still plenty to play for and while some of the young stars might not get the game time they did a few weeks ago as more senior players return – they have certainly left a lasting impression on fans.

Anfield legend Torres, too. The Spaniard is in town ahead of this weekend’s legends clash between The Reds and Ajax. Torres is part of a squad that includes Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt and Djibril Cisse.
Legends that made names for themselves at Anfield – while Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah and Bobby Clark are just embarking on their careers. Bradley has been superb, replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Torres said he faced both Quansah and Clark recently when in charge of Atletico Madrid’s youth side in the UEFA Youth League recently. He praised the duo, as well as Northern Ireland right-back Bradley.
“I remember playing against Liverpool in the UEFA Youth League three years ago,” Torres recalled, during an interview with LFCTV this week. “I played against Quansah, Clark and many other players.
“You can see them now in the first team and it’s really nice to see when they were young and now they are in the first team. Bradley. What they are doing. It’s really nice also for the coaches to be part of that.”

Well, Liverpool are hardly flush with central defenders. Joel Matip is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season, while van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate have had injury issues. Quansah stands a very good chance.
Sammy Lee said he has been “immense”. Bradley has too, even scoring for the Reds – which comes after starring for Bolton on loan. He already has international caps. But he may have to tend as back-up.
It remains to be seen how long he is willing to do that, with Bradley unlikely to ever overtake Alexander-Arnold – no fault of his own, but just a sign of how good the England star is. For Clark, it is very tricky.
More of an attacking midfielder, Liverpool are flush with options in that area. His Father, Newcastle icon Lee Clark, said that he had options to leave in January. Come the summer, a loan might be beneficial.
