Ibrahima Konate has been something of a mixed bag since signing for Liverpool.
The Frenchman had a remarkable debut season at Anfield, but last term, he wasn’t at the races.
The centre-half made a few notable mistakes last term as the Reds finished outside the Champions League places for the first time in a long time.
However, this season, Liverpool are back on track, and so is Konate.
Speaking on BBC 606, Chris Sutton has been discussing Liverpool’s return to prominence and their defensive steel this season, and he says that Konate is a player who is really growing on him in this Liverpool team.

The pundit shared his verdict on the £36m man.
“Van Dijk if he wasn’t a centre-back people would be talking about him for a Ballon d’Or again, he’s been absolutely unbelievable this season Van Dijk,” One caller said.
“What about Konate alongside him? He’s really growing on me Konate,” Sutton said.
Maturing
It’s not all that surprising to hear that Konate is growing on Sutton because he seems to be growing on everyone at the moment.
Konate is really maturing into a very good player.
When he first arrived at Liverpool, he was perhaps accused of being too reliant on his incredible physical attributes, but now, he’s becoming the full package as a centre-back.
He’s getting better on the ball, he’s becoming more organised as a defender in a joint unit of a backline, and he’s reading the game much better.
Last season, Konate looked off his game, but now, he’s back to his best and looking better than ever before.
Liverpool have a fantastic defensive record in the Premier League this season, and Konate has played a massive part in that.
The Reds are very lucky to have a player like Konate in their backline.
