BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer was blown away by defender Conor Bradley’s performance for Liverpool against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup Final.
The Northern Irish international has been a revelation for the Reds ever since his introduction to the team this season.
Commentating on the match for BBC Sport, Shearer was quick to point out how much of an impact he was having on the game.
Shearer raves about Bradley during Liverpool vs Chelsea EFL Cup final
At the start of the season, you would have been shocked to see number 84 in the starting line-up for such a huge match for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Conor Bradley only had five senior Liverpool appearances to his name before this season but has been highly rated for some time.
He was exceptional on loan at Bolton Wanderers last season and has earned his place in Liverpool’s first team.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has suffered a couple of injuries this season, and with Klopp low on numbers at left-back as well, Bradley has been handed his opportunity.
It’s safe to say he’s grabbed it with both hands and when the England international is fit again, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him deployed in midfield to keep the academy graduate in the side.
Alan Shearer was very impressed with the start Bradley made to the game for Liverpool against Chelsea at Wembley.
He was having an impact on both boxes and when Ryan Gravenberch was stretched off with an injury, he ended up playing in an even more advanced position.
That versatility will do him no harm going forward.

Speaking about the 20-year-old’s influence in the opening minutes, Shearer said: “Yeah, he’s had a really, really good start to this game Conor Bradley.
“He’s the one that has had to defend when he’s wanted to but then he’s actually – very much like we’ve seen Trent [Alexander-Arnold] do – and he’s gone into the midfield and seen a lot of the ball already.
“He was really dangerous on that break when he played it out to the left-hand side into [Luis] Diaz.
Bradley was then called into action at the back and even though he was the last man, he dealt with Nicolas Jackson brilliantly, with Shearer adding: “He had to get that right and he got it absolutely spot on.
“From the what have we played, 16, 17 minutes, he’s been the outstanding player on the pitch at the minute Conor Bradley.”
Shearer’s praise for Bradley will ring true for many Liverpool fans and he frustrated Chelsea throughout the first half.
He’s been described as ‘absolutely magnificent’ in the build-up to the game and lived up to that billing in the first half.
Bradley played a starring role in both legs of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham and more than deserved to start arguably the biggest game of his career at Wembley.
