Jamie Carragher has called for one Liverpool player to step up as we head into the business end of the campaign.
Jurgen Klopp’s side picked up a 2-1 win over Brighton on Sunday and moved to the top of the Premier League table.
The German was yet to record a victory over Roberto De Zerbi’s men ahead of today’s game and would have feared the worst after Liverpool fell behind early.
Danny Welbeck opened the scoring with a superb finish but Liverpool piled on the pressure thereafter.
Luis Diaz levelled things up in the 27th minute but Klopp’s men proved to be wasteful in front of goal and had to wait until after the hour mark for Mohamed Salah to find what proved to be the winner.
And as Liverpool continued to search for that decisive second goal, Jamie Carragher called for Dominik Szoboszlai to do more.

The Liverpool legend was co-commentating on today’s game on Sky Sports and feels his former side need more from Szoboszlai.
“They could do with a little bit more from Szoboszlai, Liverpool,” Carragher said. “A blistering start to his Liverpool career then out with injuries.
“There’s real talent there but we’re getting to that stage of the season now where big performances are going to really matter.”

The 23-year-old played a pinpoint ball across the edge of the box to Alexis Mac Allister, who then set up Salah.
Szoboszlai’s stats for Liverpool
After an exceptional start to life at Anfield following his summer switch from RB Leipzig, Szoboszlai scored three goals and provided as many assists in his first 21 league games.
Yet, since returning from a hamstring injury earlier this month, the Hungarian is yet to return to his best form.
Liverpool will certainly be hopeful Szoboszlai returns to full match sharpness ahead of the run-in. We’ve already seen how influential he can be in the middle of the park and Klopp will need him at his best as he bids to deliver a Premier League title in his farewell campaign.
