Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United could try to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024.
That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who has given his take on whether Olise could leave Palace in the January transfer window.
So, what has been reported about Liverpool, Manchester United and Michael Olise? Let’s take a look.
Liverpool and Manchester United could try to sign Michael Olise in 2024 summer
Well, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could try to sign Michael Olise from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024.
Jacobs has noted that Manchester United could make a move for the winger as well.
The reporter has said that there is a real possibility that the 22-year-old, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, could leave Palace at the end of the season, but not now.

“The clause is higher than his old and complicated £35m one which Chelsea tried to trigger over the summer only to see Olise pen a new contract. It’s too early to say if Chelsea will return, but I would keep an eye on Liverpool and Manchester United. Olise is having a superb season so far and a summer exit from Palace could be a real possibility because he wants to play European football.
“The extension at Palace wasn’t necessarily signed to stay long term so much as protect all parties, and raise the release clause because the previous one was set at a bit of a bargain.”
My View: Liverpool more appealing than Manchester United for Michael Olise
In my opinion, Liverpool would be more appealing than Manchester United for Michael Olise.
I think that if the Crystal Palace winger has to choose between Liverpool and United, then he should pick the former.
Yes, I know that United are arguably the biggest club in England, but they have been stuck in a ‘project phase’ for years now. The Red Devils are unlikely to win the Premier League title anytime soon.
Liverpool have won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League in recent years. Under manager Jurgen Klopp, the Merseyside club play wonderful attacking football.
True, Olise would have to fight for his place at Liverpool, but given his quality and potential, the 22-year-old should back himself to be a success at Anfield. Yannick Bolasie rates him highly.
Olise has made 72 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The winger has scored nine goals and given 17 assists in those games.
