Liverpool have a big summer ahead of them as Arne Slot prepares to take the Reds reins from Jurgen Klopp.
Slot, Richard Hughes and FSG’s Michael Edwards will be busy ensuring that Liverpool can maintain continuity post-Klopp and improve further.
With the summer transfer window nearly upon us, we could see numerous incomings and outgoings at Anfield over the coming months.
Although Liverpool strengthened their midfield significantly last year, one player who is being linked heavily with the Reds plays in the middle of the park.

Now, one of Koopmeiners’ international teammates has sung his praises and backed him to make a “big leap” in his career.
Kevin Strootman, who plays for Genoa and has won 46 caps for the Netherlands, also spoke highly of Bologna forward Joshua Kirkzee.
With Euro 2024 on the horizon, all three players are likely to make Ronald Koeman’s squad as they look for their first major trophy since 1988.
What has Kevin Strootman said about Liverpool target Teun Koopmeiners?
“Koopmeiners and Zirkzee are doing very well,” Strootman told Radio TV Serie A, as transcribed by Tuttomercatoweb.
“Atalanta and Bologna are teams to be treated with great respect. I read that many top clubs would like them, they will also have their ambitions.
“They are players with extra quality and I hope they will also show it at the European Championship.
“I think after that they can choose wherever they want to go, I’m sure they are ready for a big leap.”
Koopmeiners, who reportedly has a £51million price tag, would be a solid and versatile option for Liverpool as he’s able to operate in multiple roles in the middle of the park.
Let’s see what happens in the coming months, but as far as transfer leads go, this is a fairly solid one, not least because Koopmeiners and Slot have worked together at AZ.
