‘Quite frightening’: Jermain Defoe says £34m Liverpool player is so good it’s a bit scary

Mohamed Salah hit his 150th Premier League goal this weekend against Crystal Palace.

The winger has established himself as one of the greatest players this league has ever seen at Liverpool, and the scary thing is that he’s only getting better.

After almost a decade of brilliance at Anfield, Salah may well be playing the best football of his career right now.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Jermain Defoe has been discussing Salah after his landmark goal on Sunday, and he says it’s quite frightening how good Salah has become since arriving at Liverpool.

Salah is scarily good

Defoe shared his verdict on the £34m winger.

“It’s amazing. Quite frightening really some of the goals he’s scored, the way he’s always fit to play. We will see in a bit, it’s all sorts of goals, he’s relentless, he’s all about numbers Salah. That’s why he’s always able to play and he must look at this list and think where can I get to?” Defoe said.

Unstoppable

Defoe says that Salah is a frightening player, and we’re inclined to agree.

He’s one of very few players in Premier League history to truly be the whole package.

Pace, strength, technical ability, end product, creativity and drive, Salah literally has every attribute you’d want from an attacker.

The only player we can think of who had everything that Salah has in the Premier League era is Thierry Henry, and the fact that you can make that comparison is a huge compliment to the Egyptian.

Jermain Defoe has praised Salah for his 150th goal, but in the back of his mind he must be a bit concerned as the winger is now breathing right down his neck in the all-time Premier League scoring charts as the Egyptian now targets a place in the 200 club.

Salah is a scary player, that’s for sure.
