The defender reflected on the club’s progress implementing the new gaffer’s system.

Liverpool have touched down in Philadelphia and have begun preparations ahead of Wednesday’s friendly with fellow Premier League rival Arsenal. Fresh off their first win in the Arne Slot Era, the players don’t have much time to bask in the warm glow of a victory.

Still, the official site was able to catch center-back Jarell Quansah in a reflective mood, allowing for some insights on how the squad has been adapting to the new tactical expectations and wrinkles under head coach Arne Slot. The young defender had some pretty interesting thoughts.

“We’re still forming new relationships and forming sort of the way the gaffer wants us to play really. It’s just about putting that together and it will come together for sure.”

Quansah looked pretty solid out there and it was more encouraging given that he’s looked at as the most senior in his pairing with Sepp van den Berg. Jarell looked assured and composed through most of the night and I feel that mix of steady practicality and quiet confidence is evident in his assessments for where the club are and where they’ve got to go.

With the team now poised to take on Arsenal, I’m even more excited to see the progression in Arne Slot’s project. Bring on the Gunners!
