Harvey Elliott and Virgil van Dijk were both impressed with one of their Liverpool teammates at Fulham yesterday.
Liverpool got back on track with a 3-1 victory at Craven Cottage, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota all getting on the scoresheet.
Alexander-Arnold’s effort was the pick of the bunch as he beat Bernd Leno with an exceptional free-kick on the half-hour mark.
Gravenberch then restored Liverpool’s lead in the 53rd minute after Timothy Castagne’s leveller against the run of play at the end of the first half.
The Dutchman netted a brilliant strike of his own as he rattled in an effort off the post from range.
Jota’s well-taken finish in the 72nd minute handed the Reds a deserved two-goal cushion and Jurgen Klopp’s side moved level on points with Premier League leaders Arsenal.
But it was a player who didn’t get amongst the goals that has earned praise from Harvey Elliott and Virgil van Dijk.

Klopp sprung a few surprises with his starting line-up yesterday, with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Alexis Mac Allister dropping to the bench.
Nunez has frustrated in recent weeks as he continues to prove unreliable in the final third.
Cody Gakpo started off the left-hand side against the Cottagers and provided the assist for Jota to hand Liverpool a crucial two-goal lead.
The Dutchman took to Instagram after yesterday’s win and wrote: “Strong away performance, let’s keep this going. Thank you all for the support Reds.”
His teammates were quick to congratulate him on an encouraging performance at Craven Cottage, with Elliott replying: “Quality.”

It’s fair to say that Gakpo hasn’t had the best season at Anfield following an encouraging debut campaign last time out.
The £35 million Dutchman has struggled to nail down a place in Klopp’s side but has netted 14 goals and provided five assists this term.
His display at Fulham yesterday was arguably the best we’ve seen from him in a Liverpool shirt in recent months.
